U.S. CoffeeChamps Latte Art Prelimins

Each LAC Prelim will host 12-18 competitors. This newer competition evaluates Latte Artists’ skills to design and replicate 2 sets of the same pattern while technical judges score competitors according to their cleanliness and bar flow. The Top 4 competitors from each Prelim receive a reserved spot at one of the CoffeeChamps Qualifying Competitions.

At the U.S. CoffeeChamps Latte Art Preliminaries:

  • Competitors will have 7 minutes to make TWO 10oz matching Free Pour Lattes for 2 Visual Judges. For more information on the definition of Free Pour Latte, please refer to the 2023 Preliminaries Rules and Regulation packet, available on the CoffeeChamps website.

  • During the competition, competitors will first present a high definition print of a Free Pour Latte Art pattern to the judges, and then present two drinks to replicate the pattern shown on the aforementioned print.

  • Competitor’s preparation skills will be assessed by 1 technical judge. A Head Judge oversees all these judges but does not score.

  • Competitors must use the provided compulsory coffee and homogenized whole milk. Samples of compulsory coffee can be arranged.

  • All wares and equipment are supplied by Prelims Hosts! Competitors may bring their own wares if they would like.

  • All judges are required to attend the onsite visual and technical judges certification course prior to competition.

The event is finished.
